Baptism

Baptism of Infants

Congratulations on this joyous occasion of your child’s baptism! We look forward to assisting your family in preparing for the baptism of your child. The baptism preparation session is designed to provide the formation and information needed to fully understand the Sacrament of Baptism and your role as a Catholic parent. At least one parent must be an active registered member of the parish. Parents are required to attend a pre-baptismal class for the first child.

Please call the parish office, 712-246-1718 to register your child for baptism and schedule your child's baptism.

Baptism of Older Children

Because there are so many variables with older children, ask to visit with the pastor and to discover the best path of preparation for your child. Fr. Jason Lee may be contacted at 712-246-1718.

Baptism for Adults

The parish offers the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (O.C.I.A.). These are a series of classes that inform what the Catholic Church teaches about what we believe and how we are to live as followers of Jesus.

Since adults can have many different levels of exposure to Christianity in their personal faith journey, ask to meet with the pastor to see what is helpful in your next steps. Fr. Jason Lee may be contacted at 712-246-1718.

First Communion

Preparation for First Communion is a special, intense program that begins for second graders after they receive First Reconciliation, which both public and Catholic schools attend from Sept-April. First Communion is received at a special Mass allowing family and friends to join the celebration. Students must have completed first grade religious education or been enrolled in a Catholic school. These Sacraments require two years of preparation; therefore, first grade attendance is mandatory to receive First Reconciliation and First Communion in second grade. The Diocese requires two years of Religious Education. Contact Tiffany Doyle DRE at tiffanydoyledre@gmail.com

Anointing of the Sick

The Church celebrates the healing grace of God in this sacrament with us when we face illnesses of mind or body, when we are preparing for surgery, or when we are near death. The anointing assures us and our loved ones of Christ's presence with us during a time of pain and suffering. It holds out for us the hope promised in baptism that God is a God of life and that eternal life is the ultimate gift of healing.

If you are having surgery or are seriously ill, you may contact the office to ask for the sacrament of anointing by a priest.

If you or someone you know is nearing death, and needs Last Rites, please call (712)-246-1718.
